Ricci Wynne, a social media agitator and frequent Fox News guest known for spotlighting San Francisco’s drug and homelessness crises, was charged Wednesday with pimping and pandering in a case that spans over the last 18 months, court records show.
The felony charges came days after Wynne, 39, and an unidentified female companion were taken into custody at San Francisco International Airport. Police conducted a probation search of Wynne’s Fremont Street residence and booked him into jail. The woman was released.
Wynne pleaded not guilty on Wednesday afternoon during his arraignment in San Francisco Superior Court. A judge ordered that he be released to the custody of U.S. Marshals, following an allegation that Wynne violated his probation in a separate federal case. Wynne will later be returned to local custody, where he could argue to be released pending trial.
The allegations brought by prosecutors appear consistent with the account of a woman who spoke to the Chronicle on Wednesday who said Wynne attempted to recruit her for prostitution. | |
