Jennifer Leigh Ryan was tagged in photos on Facebook on Jan. 5 getting on a private jet at a small airport in Texas. “We’re so excited! DC bound to #StopTheSteal,” wrote a man who tagged Ryan in the photo, referring to the popular Trump-supporter line that claims, without evidence, that President-elect Joe Biden stole the election, federal prosecutors said.

Johnny Enlow, a right-wing pastor and QAnon conspiracy theorist, appeared on the Elijah Streams YouTube channel Thursday, where he declared that the outcome of the college football national championship game was a prophetic sign that President Donald Trump will remain in office. Despite the fact that Trump’s term is set to end in less than a week, Enlow claims to have found a message from God hidden in the final score of Monday’s national championship game between Alabama and Ohio State, which Alabama won by a score of 52-24. Enlow said that when the game began, he fully expected the final score to contain the number 45, which he said would be a prophetic sign regarding Trump, who is the 45th president of the United States. Though there was no 45 in the final score, Enlow nevertheless found prophetic significance in the score when he saw it displayed on ESPN as “Ohio State 24 – 52 Alabama.” To Enlow, the number 45 surrounded by two 2s was a clear sign from God that Trump is going to serve a second term.

Razdan, a renowned TV journalist, says she was the victim of a “sophisticated and coordinated phishing attack.” In a statement Friday, the 43-year-old described how she was led on by the fake job offer over the course of the last six months, initially dismissing certain “anomalies” as a part of the “new normal” amidst the COVID-19 pandemic until the truth came out.

“While on a hike with his dog, he slipped off a cliff,” the text reads. “His brains were later found in the passing of his dog’s bowels.”...the T1 fiber-optic internet he claims to have paid $10,000 a month for in the 1990s in order to play the video game Quake online without annoying lag...And how about a chyron that states Rogan has been found dead in his apartment, “likely due to a marijuana overdose”...After a parody death notice made the rounds in 2014 (this time it was a DMT overdose)...Rogan puts a great premium on “the truth” in his work...That #RIPJoeRogan is technically misinformation, whatever the humorous intent, draws an arrow back to Rogan’s podcast, on which he’s occasionally pushed false narratives and, most recently, aired dangerous skepticism toward the coronavirus pandemic. He has mocked face masks even while bragging that he has access to frequent testing and as his pals get sick. There’s a stoner enthusiasm to Rogan that lends itself to unreliability and overstatement, and that’s reflected in media coverage (e.g., the headline “Joe Rogan Almost Died While Gaming”).

In time, fed-up liberals (and especially leftists) started begging these Potter nerds to “read another book,” in the hopes that their strained literary allusions would at least achieve greater variety. The F.B.I. is investigating 37 people related to the killing of Officer Brian Sicknick, the Capitol Police officer who died after being injured during the pro-Trump riot on Jan. 6, according to an F.B.I. memo sent to the private sector and others on Friday. The Times obtained a copy of the report.

As confusion about online coronavirus vaccine scheduling continues, some users report facing rejections from a credit monitoring service. When retired web developer Catherine Kunicki tried to sign up for her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in downtown Brooklyn, the AdvantageCare Physicians website rejected her. She received an error message that her identity couldn't be verified through Experian, a credit monitoring company. She said she's felt "horrified" at the amount of info needed from vaccination scheduling sites before users can even see when there are open slots. "This one wins, though," she said. When Motherboard tested the AdvantageCare Physicians website (as a hypothetical 65+ Brooklyn resident), we confirmed that it is using Experian to verify patients’ identities. The website claims that AdvantageCare Physicians does not get information about a patient’s credit score. But Experian is a credit reporting company and big data company, and the tool the vaccine scheduling website is using verifies identities by using information that shows up in people’s Experian credit histories. This is a problem for a lot of reasons. One-in-five Americans is “credit invisible” or has poor credit, according to a report from the nonprofit Corporation for Enterprise Development. Black Americans are more likely to have poor credit; they are also disproportionately affected by COVID-19. Still, this Experian tool and tools like it—collectively called remote identity proofing—are used for all sorts of things they shouldn’t be: “The remote identity proofing (RIDP) process confirms an applicant’s identity based on their credit information,” the Corporation for Enterprise Development report states. “This process has a success rate of only 78 percent, and applicants with little or no credit history and the millions of victims of identity theft cannot complete an RIDP.”

When Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced this week that the federal government would begin releasing coronavirus vaccine doses held in reserve for second shots, no such reserve existed, according to state and federal officials briefed on distribution plans. The Trump administration had already begun shipping out what was available beginning at the end of December, taking second doses directly off the manufacturing line.

I want to eat you,” was one quote. “If I wanted to cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession?” was another.

But that’s what we have," Eckhart said. A reporter can be heard saying to Eckhart that the photo "obviously" presents a problem for him as a defense attorney.
