Trump says Ontario ‘not allowed’ to slap surcharge on electricity sent to U.S. states
    https://www.ctvnews.ca/toronto/politics/queens-park/article/we-dont-need-your-energy-trump-says-in-response-to-ontarios-electricity-surcharge/
U.S. President Donald Trump is responding to Ontario’s decision to slap a 25 per cent surcharge on all electricity exports to the United States, threatening to “get it all back” with reciprocal tariffs on April 2. “Despite the fact that Canada is charging the USA from 250% to 390% on Tariffs on many of our farm products, Ontario just announced a 25% surcharge on ‘electricity,’ of all things, and your not even allowed to do that,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Because our Tariffs are reciprocal, we’ll just get it all back on April 2.” He repeated previous claims that Canada is a “Tariff abuser” and suggested that the U.S. will “not be subsidizing Canada anymore.” “We don’t need your Cars, we don’t need your Lumber, we don’t your Energy, and very soon you will find that out,” he wrote.

‘A new phase’: why climate activists are turning to sabotage instead of protest
    https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/mar/08/a-new-phase-why-climate-activists-are-turning-to-sabotage-instead-of-protest
But actions such as this pale in comparison with the scale of those taken by climate activists abroad. In Germany, activists last year staged attacks against gas pipelines, while others escalated a campaign against concrete with two arson attacks on a Cemex plant in Berlin.

Tiny Human Relatives Walked Upright 2 Million Years Ago, World-First Fossil Find Reveals
    https://www.iflscience.com/tiny-human-relatives-walked-upright-2-million-years-ago-world-first-fossil-find-reveals-78337
A hipbone from Paranthropus robustus, a species of hominin thought to have lived alongside our direct ancestors, has revealed they also walked upright. Besides confirming their similarity to us, the discovery also reveals how small Paranthropus was and how vulnerable it would have been given the fearsome predators of its environment, and also complicates the story we have told about their sex lives.

Layoffs Hit Unbelievable High Thanks to Trump and Musk
    https://newrepublic.com/post/192409/layoffs-trump-musk
Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s cuts to the federal government have caused a record-breaking surge in layoffs. U.S. workers are being laid off at levels not seen since the Great Recession in 2009, all thanks to Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency. A new report from Challenger, Gray, and Christmas, an international firm that helps laid-off workers find new jobs, said that job losses spiked a whopping 245 percent to 172,017 last month, higher than any month since the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic in July 2020, and the highest in any February since 2009.
