Many of the worst developments coming down the pipeline in crypto and defense tech have been building for years now, thanks in part to the Biden administration.
Despite its incessant whining, our technology sector has had it easy under Joe Biden and will have it even easier under Donald Trump. The president-elect is backed by a swath of Silicon Valley billionaires, likely to enjoy full control of Congress, and eager to usher in a wave of deregulation that we’ve likely not seen for decades. Many of the worst developments coming down the pipeline have been building for years now, in part because the Biden administration helped build the coming nightmare or left the pieces lying about for Trump to capitalize on. That’s going to make a few people in quite a few sectors very, very rich.

Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes said on Thursday that the suicide bomber who tried to get into the top court on Wednesday had intended to blow up the building, casting it as part of a growing wave of attacks on democracy.
Police identified the man who killed himself in a blast outside the Supreme Court as a former city council candidate from ex-President Jair Bolsonaro's right-wing party with a history of heated political rhetoric online.
A police report seen by Reuters, confirmed as authentic by people familiar with the matter, said Francisco Wanderley Luiz, 59, threw an object at the court building that caused no damage, then laid on the ground and exploded a homemade bomb that killed him.

A missing man was discovered dead in a Planet Fitness tanning bed Monday three days after he walked into one of the gym’s locations in Indianapolis, authorities and loved ones said.
The body of Derek Sink, 39, was found around 9 a.m. — about four hours after the fitness center opened for business, according to reports.
The day before, Sink was reported missing by family who had not heard from him since Friday, the Indianapolis Star reported, citing police records.
A woman who visited the gym Monday morning told WTHR a foul smell was wafting through the building before the body was found in the tanning bed.

The billionaire class used the Gaza siege to purge leftists, and even left populism. Caught up in the wake were the cautious elites.
As shocking as it was, there was also something about last week’s election that felt sickeningly obvious and familiar, like a violent flare-up of a chronic malaise that has plagued our reality for more than a year now.
On a certain level, that is to say, watching Kamala Harris lose felt like watching the latest installment in a great Oligarch Purge that started last October and swallowed everyone from Hollywood actresses to an NFL coach to a volunteer Santa Claus who pushed back too aggressively on a Likudnik rabbi’s talking points in a Hamptons community forum on the history of Israel and Palestine.
